PETITION TO CENSURE AND REMOVE
PAUL A. CAMUSO from the City Council

Mr. Camuso’s votes and Mr. Camuso’s behavior as “president” of the CIty Council have been highly suspicious and not in the best interests of the residents of Medford.

Mr. Camuso’s public conduct has been similar to the public conduct of
Frank Pilleri running TV3.

Ruining a non-profit is bad for the community. Ruining the operation of the only forum for the people to have a voice in this city is repugnant.

It is the intent of this petition to alert those who have influence over Camuso, Sheriff Peter Koutoujian, LaDonna Hatton and Mayor McGlynn, to advise their colleague that his conduct is an embarrassment to both the office of the sheriff – which was supposed to remove remnants of the Jimmy DiPaola regime from that office

Mr. Koutoujian can be faulted twice here:

—he kept a member of the DiPaola regime in when it appears his promise was a fresh, clean start

—Mr. Koutoujian was seen on Inside Medford with his employee – Camuso – giving Mr. Koutoujian an in-kind contribution, campaigning for his boss.

This mirrors Camuso going on ZAPP TV when Gary Zappelli was a board member of a 501c3 and both engaging in the violation of the Internal Revenue Code.

Camuso allowed Zappelli to gleefully bash fellow councilors – while Camuso was seen on that filth fest, ZappTV, as a statesman.

At any time Paul Camuso could have reported Zappelli, which I did after the fact, or asked Zappelli to stop harassing his fellow councilors, just as a council president asked a citizen to rescind a petition to hold a NO CONFIDENCE VOTE on Camuso.

Reasonable people can negotiate. Camuso, having committed an act of internet harassment and abuse on Christmas, 2014, has not only continued to be vulgar and hideous in public, e mailing the most hideous attack imaginable on a holiday, which is against the law, Camuso has amped up his bullying at the council against his own colleagues.

Without a public access station, citizens cannot be contacted in an effective way for a recall vote, and the process is long and arduous.

Because of the egregious conduct of Camuso his colleagues on the council, the mayor, the police chief and the Middlesex Sheriff’s office need to inform Camuso that the conduct has gone beyond what is allowed in a civil society.

The Citizens should be made aware of anything in Mr. Camuso’s background that would cause concern, and Camuso should be advised by those in authority that his lies, his failure to understand simple council rules and his bullying have gone beyond the breaking point.

Those in authority should pressure Camuso to resign. The public investigation into Camuso’s past will continue and the authorities will be asked – for the sake of public safety – to demand Camuso’s resignation.

At that point Mark Crowley will be given the opportunity to be City Councilor just as Mark Arena was given the seat when Stephanie Burke became budget director and left the council.

This city has problems with infrastructure and public safety concerns. Camuso is a big part of the problem, not the solution.

EXHIBIT A
in this petition to remove Camuso from the City Council immediately in 2015 is the allegation of CENSORSHIP

Mr. Camuso has interfered with city councilors and citizens in their attempt to speak. It was poor judgment that the council voted an undisciplined and suspicious character to be council president, and the results are before you. Those results are not just bad: those results are terrible.

Exhibit B:
In 2012 or so Camuso said that if he received a raise he would “give it to charity.”

—citizens shouldn’t be forced to give a raise to elected officials so that they can choose a charity, not in these tough economic times

—in 2015 Camuso got that raise – and you saw how problematic it was for Boston City Councilors to do the same thing.
The question is: Did Camuso give the additional 2 thousand dollars or so to charity as promised? Or was that promise hollow and just a prelude to an undeserved money grab?
NO CONFIDENCE VOTE
This citizen asked a few years back for a “no confidence vote” in the councilor noted above. The then president asked me to rescind the petition and I complied with her request.

Rather than take his roles and responsibilities more seriously after my show of kindness. Mr. Camuso’s quite possibly illegal antics include, but are not limited to:

—stalking this resident behind City Hall one evening, going in the wrong directly quickly in the dark, blasting his horn to frighten me, and pointing his finger at me – then speeding through the DO NOT ENTER sign and leaving on the Medford Square side of the city hall parking lot

—bringing a police presence to the city council – not for any security reasons as most – if not all – of the criminal harassment at city hall was perpetrated by Camuso’s friends – Gary Zappelli, Doria Alberg, Matthew Page Lieberman, the then station manager, including the only time some of us have ever witnessed removal of people from city hall for being disorderly – David Skerry at Judge Jackson-Thompson’s public meeting, Frank Pilleri in August of 2013 at a City Council meeting.

This kind of activity is not seen at a school committee, and that kind of “palling around with alleged terrorists” to quote Sarah Palin, is not acceptable in a civil society.

So why did Camuso have a police presence: I was informed he called in “security” to attempt to embarrass his victim, me.

Camuso wanted to throw this citizen out of city hall in an attempt to embarrass me. And he threatened to do the same to a fellow councilor seated to the right of the council president.

So while the police do not have the resources, an officer was at City Hall in January of 2015 as a form of Camuso Bullying, and Camuso did not succeed in his stunt that abused city resources.

BACKGROUND CHECK
CAMUSO, as Councilor, has checked on the background of dozens and dozens of taxi drivers applying for city approval to drive a cab. The plethora of candidates is a huge red flag as they state they are not from Medford.

There are two issues here:

a)Why is Mr. Camuso so intent on non-residents getting licenses

b)Why do taxi drivers get CORI checked when a Council President does not?

It is illogical.

A public records request to another public agency that pays Camuso from taxpayer funds is the sheriff’s office.

A Public Records Request was put in to the Sheriff’s office to see if certain alleged issues in Mr. Camuso’s past – allegations of (EXAMPLES WERE GIVEN TO LAW ENFORCEMENT)

The announcement from Camuso that he will not run for office in 2015 is also a red flag. What would make a candidate who considers himself “popular” just step down out of the blue in the middle of a term?

I respectfully submit that this council and those in authority carefully weigh the evidence, and then ask for the immediate resignation of Paul A. Camuso.

Camuso has made his decision not to run for re-election. He is already a “lame duck” and his hideous tactics can only get worse over the next twelve months, as we witnessed his conduct become more vindictive and negative at the council and in public after his announcement not to run for re-election.

Let’s give Mark Crowley an opportunity. It’s pretty much a guarantee that Mr. Crowley will be more civil, more disciplined, and more interested in helping out citizens.

I may seek a restraining order against Mr. Camuso for that e mail he sent on Christmas day.

The citizens need to know what Camuso hasn’t told us about his past. He was asked if he went to the Curtis/Tufts High School and he acted as if that were a bad thing and claimed he “graduated Medford High.” Don’t all Curtist/Tufts students graduate Medford High School? Camuso didn’t answer the question. Does he have a criminal background or special needs if he did go to Curtis/Tufts.

That’s something the residents need to know. It IS now a public safety issue after Camuso’s reprehensible act on Christmas day, 2015.

No resident should be bullied for 7 plus years as I have been since my first report to the Medford Police on the conduct of TV3’s associate and defender, Paul A. Camuso, which happened in October of 2006.
